Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's disease is a brain disorder that causes muscle tremor, weakness,
and stiffness. The characteristic signs are trembling, a rigid posture, slow
movements, and a shuffling, unbalanced walk. Parkinson's disease is caused by
degeneration of nerve cells due largely to free-radical damage. In all but the initial
phases of the diseases, drug therapy is necessary.
Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations
· Consume a diet that focuses on whole, unprocessed foods (whole grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds).
· Eliminate alcohol, caffeine, and sugar.
· Get regular exercise.
· Perform a relaxation exercise (deep breathing, meditation, prayer, visualization,
etcetera) 10 to 15 minutes each day.
· Drink at least 48 ounces of distilled water daily.
Supplement Protocol
· High-potency multiple
· Vitamin C, 500 to 1,000 milligrams three times daily
· Vitamin E, 4130 to 800 International Units daily
· Essential Fatty acids Omega 3,6, & 9
· Ginkgo biloba extract (24 percent ginkgo flavonglycoside), 40 to 80 milligrams three times daily
· Phosphatidylserine, 100 milligrams three times daily
Additional Recommendations
