Colloidal
Silver safely kills over 650 disease-causing bacteria, viruses,

Colloidal silver near a bacterium or single cell pathogen

Water Purification
Water can be purified by adding two teaspoons of 30+ ppm colloidal
silver to one gallon of water. Legion Ella pnuemophilia
(Legionnaire's disease) is lethal in water with a temperature of
95 degrees Fahrenheit but is killed when the water temperature
is raised to 135 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Interestingly, water
with a colloidal silver concentration of only 20 ppb (parts per
billion) kills Legionella pnuemophilia. U.S. regulations
currently allow 20 ppb in drinking water. However European draft
guidelines removed any upper limit for silver in drinking water
based upon World Health Organizations' Guidelines for Drinking
Water Quality that states "It is unnecessary to recommend
any health-based guidelines for silver as it is not hazardous to
human health." Pathogens in water are killed by the
addition of colloidal silver.
Waste colloidal silver should not be dumped into drainpipes leading
to septic tanks since bacterial breakdown action of solid waste
would be impaired.

Regardless
of what anyone has said to the contrary, silver chloride will ALWAYS form if any
amount of salt is present. Never add anything to the water that will make the
water conduct electricity better. Never add salt, sea salt, or Celtic sea salt
to the distilled water because the salt puts chloride ions in the water that
react with the silver to form silver chloride. Another serious problem arises
when making colloidal silver with salt in the water. The presence of salt
increases the electrical conductivity of the water and this dramatically speeds
up the reaction. As the reaction speeds up under these circumstances, it
produces larger particles. The product produced is invariably cloudy-white in
appearance. Actual electron microscope photographs of this material show silver
particles in the range of .05 to .15 microns. These particles are TOO LARGE to
form a colloidal suspension, and the proof is that the material will settle to
the bottom of the container in a very short period of time. Therefore, this home
brewed "colloidal silver" product may be dangerous to consume
internally for TWO reasons: the presence of silver chloride and the production
of large particles.
What is Colloidal Silver?
Colloidal
silver is a solution of extremely fine submicroscopic particles of pure silver
suspended in water by a positive electric charge on each particle. The particles
remain suspended throughout the solution because these positive-charged
particles repel each other with a greater force than gravity . A powerful
germicidal, silver is an exceptional metal in that it is non-toxic to the human
body, but lethal to over 650 disease-causing bacteria, viruses, fungi,
parasites, and molds; while conventional pharmaceutical antibiotics are
typically effective against only 6 to 7 types of bacteria. Some new strains of
bacteria classified as MDR (Multiple Drug Resistant) have proven to be resistant
to all pharmaceutical antibiotics, but not to colloidal silver due to different
germicidal mechanisms of deactivation.
Extensive
research into the curative properties of silver has been conducted for many
years at the Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. Under
the direction of Dr. Robert Beck, M.D., author of The Body Electric and
Crosscurrents. The experiments concluded that silver works on a wide range of
bacteria, without any known side-effects or damage to the cells of the body. Dr.
Beck discovered that the silver was doing something more than just killing
disease-causing organisms: It was also causing major growth stimulation of
injured tissues. Dr. Beck concludes that the presence of the silver ion may help
regenerate tissue, eliminate old or cancerous cells, and any other diseased or
abnormal tissue condition.
Dr.
Bjorn Nordenstrom, of the Larolinska Institute, Sweden, has successfully used
silver as a component in his cancer treatments for many years. Dr. Leonard Keene
Hirschberg, A.M., M.D. (John Hopkins) states, "Speaking generally, the
colloidal metals are especially remarkable for their beneficial action in
infective states." Dr. Richard L. Davies, executive director of the Silver
Institute, which monitors silver technology in 37 countries, reports: "In
four years we’ve described 87 important new medical uses for silver. We’re
just beginning to see what extent silver can relieve suffering".
Despite
years of research to find a superior pharmaceutical product, silver is still
considered the most effective germ fighter and promoter of rapid healing in
cases of severe burns. Silver is used in most major burn centers in the US. UCLA
medical labs found it effectively disabled every virus tested.
Silver
filters are found in the water fountains of every airliner and space craft to
guarantee germ-free water. Silver is used also by the Soviets to sterilize
recycled water aboard the Mir Space Station. Silver is being used to replace
chlorine in swimming pools, because it does not sting the eyes and offers

Floral
and Garden
Colloidal silver can be used to greatly extend the time before decaying begins
on cut flowers. Probably due to the bacteria and other pathogens in water, cut
flowers placed that medium will tend to wither and die much more quickly than
cut flowers that are placed in water which has colloidal silver added to it. The
colloidal silver not only kills the pathogens in the water but is subsequently
absorbed into the flowers and taken to the cellular level where colloidal silver
works internally to kill remaining pathogens. A colloidal silver solution
in water can also be sprayed directly onto plants and shrubs in the garden. The
action of the colloidal silver positive ions work on the outside of the plants
to effectively destroy bacteria, virus, fungus, etc. Garden food plants

A Brief History Of Colloidal Silver
After
researchers discovered that the body prefers to utilize colloidal minerals, the
endless possibilities which could occur from the use of colloids in medicine
were exploited. Colloidal silver proved to be enormously effective against
infectious organisms and extremely safe to use, without the negative side
effects associated with drugs. As a result, Colloidal Silver was widely used in
medicine as one of the main-stays on anti-microbial treatment. It became the
choice of medical practitioners.
Throughout
the early 1900’s Colloidal Silver rapidly gained recognition as one of the
best infection-preventive agents, but unfortunately its availability was limited
due to the high cost of colloidal silver production combined with the fact that
colloidal silver could not be patented. This profit limitation prompted the
development of more profitable infection-fighting drugs. Silver was ignored
while new patented antibiotic drugs became the choice of medical treatment.
However, as is common when we deviate from Nature’s path, serious unforeseen
problems were inevitable. Today, fifty years after the advent of patented
pharmaceutical antibiotics, many types of bacteria, which were once susceptible
to these drugs, have mutated to drug-resistant strains.
Over
the years, the medical establishment has reported on the new strains of
"Super Bugs" that are resistant to every pharmaceutical antibiotic.
Newsweek Magazine reported in March, 28, 1994 that in 1992, 13,000 hospital
patients died of infections that were resistant to every drug hospital
physicians tried. Also, it is a well known fact that pharmaceutical
antibiotics are detrimental to the natural flora of the colon. Colloidal silver
does not disturb this very necessary environment.
Controversial Issues
Probably
one of the most controversial issues concerning colloidal silver has to do with
its micron size. Many variables involving water temperature, conglomeration
tendency of ion particles, mineral concentration and particulate size in the
water to which silver ions attach, etc., affect silver particle micron size. A
general range of from .05 to .001 is usually realized notwithstanding that
colloidal silver comes off the positive anode at .0001 microns or about 1.26
angstroms that are the size of about 15 atoms. Another controversial issue is
the color of the finished colloidal silver product. Color is affected by not
only the size of the mineral particles to which the silver ions attach but also
the level of electrolyte in the solution at the time of the electrolysis
process. Colors range from yellow, gold, to brown when there is little
mineral electrolyte in solution; and from milky white, to gray when the mineral
electrolyte in solution is higher. A few makers of colloidal silver use a public
fear tactic to tout their products stating that higher micron size can cause
agryria. Agryria is a condition resulting from the ingestion of large
particles of silver that react with pigment turning the skin and organs a blue
green/gray color. There appears, however, to be no known case of agryria or
agrilosis ever having resulted from colloidal silver products where the silver
remains in colloidal suspension. Large silver particles that precipitate out of
solution or float to the surface of a solution if ingested in large amounts
(over 5 ppm) can indeed cause the cosmetically undesirable skin condition. The
historic "blue blood" condition of royalty resulted from eating off of
tarnished silverware and silver utensils.
Problems With Pharmaceuticals
It
appears that every disease-causing bacterium has strains that can resist at
least one, if not most of pharmaceuticals’ antibiotics. The overuse of
antibiotics is giving life to the spread of mutant microbes.
Since
the 1970s, various studies have concluded that 50 to 60 percent of all
outpatient antibiotic prescriptions are inappropriate. As a result of the
overuse of antibiotics, sales have nearly doubled since the mid 1980s. Likewise,
drug-resistant infections have also increased. Drug companies encourage the
situation by promotion of their products through extensive advertising and
providing doctors with free samples.
Drugs
such as penicillin and tetracycline lost their power over the common staph germ,
Staphylococcus Aureus in the 50s and 60s. It now has doctors worried because it
has developed a resistance to pharmaceuticals’ most powerful antibiotic,
Vancomycin. The percentage of staph infections resistant to penicillin in the
1960 was 13; the percentage resistant in 1997 was 99. Clearly, a
non-pharmaceutical solution is required. Methicillin, another antibiotic, is now
experiencing resistance. It was recently reported that in some 20 percent of
nations gonorrhea is now resistant to one or more antibiotics. A startling
proportion of TB now resists the drug, Isoniazid.
There
is an enormous health crisis in the making, and pharmaceutical antibiotics do
not hold the answer. It is blatantly obvious to anyone who does research on this
subject those new emerging diseases and super bugs (not to mention biological
attack from terrorist groups) are more of a treat now that ever before.
Colloidal Silver can provide people with additional, non-prescriptive immunity

ever developed a resistance to Colloidal Silver.

It is
a catalyst, disabling the particular enzymes that all one-celled bacteria.
